As the Brazilian Norwegian Chamber of commerce we would like to highlight Brazilian products that are already on the market in Norway.
The Brazilian shoe brand CARIUMA , produces high quality and elegant sneakers in sustainable material, and you can purchase them in Norway, online or in the stores in Oslo.

The founders
Let us share with you a short story about David & Fernando, co-founders of CARIUMA, a Brazilian shoe brand, making sneakers out of sustainable material.
They both shared a common interest in board sports such as skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding and decided to join forces to create a show brand with focus on comfort, style and sustainability.

“ We felt we had a duty to take a stance against the wasteful practices inherent in fast fashion. It was vital for us to reinvent the sneaker game. “
The product
CARIUMA focuses on empowering conscious consumers to buy quality over quantity, which is the true answer to sustainability. They do this through sourcing their materials responsibly and designing timeless silhouettes, with focus on comfort and simplicity.
Cariuma also maintains ethical factories and employs a strict code of conduct in their day-to-day operations.By curating premium raw materials, collected in a sustainable way, the production line contributes to a smaller footprint.

Sustainable action
The UN has declared 2021-2030 the “Decade on Restoration” and in 2022, ten great initiatives were recognized as World Restoration Flagships, with The Trinational Atlantic Forest Pact being one of them.
Together with their partners, the work in the Brazilian Rainforest contributes to the pact through the plant 2 trees initiative. Cariuma works with the indigenous people to learn from their wisdom and generate work opportunities while restoring biological diversity in this essential biome.
For every CARIUMA shoes sold, 2 trees are planted in the rainforest, and over 2 million trees are planted till now.

“ Pair by pair, we’re doing our part to rebuild our rainforests through our ecological restoration program. “
Cariuma works closely with several NGOs and with the indigenous communities local to the areas, following their guidance on how to tend to the land and best support regrowth and restoration, improve seed storage efficiency and replanting methods that mitigate risk and preserve biodiversity.
CARIUMA shoes can be found in several stores in Norway, among others Blue Tomato in Oslo.
