BNCC Happy Hour at SALT

Join us on 28 May for our next BNCC Happy Hour at SALT, Oslo’s iconic waterfront venue where food, drinks, and saunas come together for an unforgettable evening.

From 18:00, Oslo-based DJs Pedro Miranda & Mats Oven will be spinning vinyl diving deep into Brazilian music from the 1960s and 70s: jazz-funk, samba-rock, and lesser-known regional gems you won’t hear anywhere else in town.

We’ve reserved a big table just for the BNCC community! Come mingle, connect, and enjoy a unique evening bridging Brazilian warmth and Norwegian hospitality.

About the DJs

Pedro Miranda is a Brazilian musician and DJ. Before relocating to Oslo, he spent years working in record shops in Belo Horizonte, where he developed a deep engagement with Brazilian music history through digging, selling, and curating records. His sets reflect ongoing research into up-tempo regional music, jazz, and independent recordings from across his home country.

Mats Oven (aka Doobie Ellington) is a Norwegian artist, producer, bass player, and DJ known for his work with bands like Joggebukse and Tuba Tuba. His connection to Brazilian music started through a record collector from Santos, who introduced him to a deeper layer of the culture far beyond the obvious. What began as a personal exchange grew into a lasting obsession to share Brazil’s extraordinary sound with the world.

Together, their sets move like a conversation, Pedro’s home-rooted archive meeting Mats’s sense of dynamics and movement. What starts as an exploration of Brazilian underground gems turns into a dancefloor, guided in real time by instinct, tension, and groove played, not programmed.
