After years of dedicated service, Paulo Guimaraes, the honorary board member representing the Embassy of Brazil in Oslo, will step down from the Board: During the tenure Paulo Guimaraes made invaluable contributions and helped guide us through the years. His insight of the Norway and Brazil connections and commitment have supported our growth and service to all communities. We wish him all the best and we are happy that he will still be around as he moves towards other commitments within the Embassy of Oslo. So to speak this is more of a hello than a goodbye and we wish him the very best in his future endeavours and hope to see him in all functions and events taking place ahead.
At the same time we are pleased to announce that Mr Emerson Novais Lopes of the Brazilian Embassy will step in as a Honorary Board Member of the Chamber. He is currently the head of the Economy, Trade and Science & Technology sectors at the Embassy of Brazil in Oslo.
A career diplomat with 22 years of experience in the Brazilian external service, he has worked at Brazil’s diplomatic representations in Italy, Bolivia, Malaysia and the Netherlands before being posted to Norway.
In Brasilia, he worked at the Press Office and at the European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He lives in Oslo with his wife, his daughter and a cat and in his free time he enjoys photographing the Norwegian landscape and architecture. We look forward to his perspectives and leadership as we continue advancing our goals.
