Driven by their shared vision and purpose, Augusto Andrade, from a family of agricultural engineers with a cattle farm background, met Nima Darabi while participating in the esteemed Antler program in Oslo. With a common goal in mind, they joined forces and established Skoog.

At the core of Skoog’s operations is a powerful platform business model designed to scale the generation of AFOLU (Agriculture, forestry, and other land use) carbon credits. By seamlessly connecting private landowners, restoration agents, ground support, carbon credit buyers, and financing, Skoog revolutionizes the carbon offsetting landscape. Skoog empowers landowners of all property sizes, granting them access to carbon markets through a simplified user journey. Their aim is to provide top-quality forest-based credits to pioneers striving for net-zero emissions.

Their comprehensive approach spans from land scouting and grouping to feasibility analysis, project definition documentation, MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification), and the commercialization of generated credits. By harnessing the vast potential of over 5 million private rural properties in Brazil, spanning an impressive 350 million hectares according to the latest IBGE census, Skoog is determined to redirect carbon financing towards scaling forest conservation, restoration, and the transition to sustainable agriculture.
